If you can receive emails but cannot send them, the issue is usually with the SMTP (outgoing) settings or a block from your internet provider.
Step 1: Check SMTP Authentication
Most sending failures are due to authentication errors.
-
Ensure your email client (Outlook, etc.) has "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" checked.
-
Ensure it is set to use "Use same settings as my incoming mail server." (See Article 63).
Step 2: Check the SMTP Port
-
Some internet providers (especially home networks like Comcast or AT&T) block port 25 (the standard SMTP port) to prevent spam.
-
Solution: Change your outgoing server port to 587 with STARTTLS encryption, or 465 with SSL. These ports are usually allowed.
Step 3: Check Server Logs
-
In cPanel, go to "Email Deliverability" or "Mail Delivery Reports" to see if your emails are being rejected by the receiving server and why.
Step 4: Check Your Domain Reputation
-
If your domain has been blacklisted, your emails will be rejected. Use tools like MXToolbox to check if your IP or domain is on any blacklists.
If you have checked all these and are still having issues, contact BurjHost support. There may be a server-side block in place.
