A subdomain is a separate part of your website that can function as a distinct site, like blog.yourdomain.com or shop.yourdomain.com. It does not require a new domain registration.
How to Create a Subdomain in cPanel:
-
Log in to your cPanel.
-
In the "Domains" section, click on "Subdomains."
-
Enter the Details:
-
Subdomain: Enter the prefix you want (e.g., if you want
store.mywebsite.com, type "store"). -
Domain: Select the main domain from the dropdown menu.
-
Document Root: This is the folder where the subdomain's files will be stored. cPanel usually fills this automatically (e.g.,
public_html/store). You can change it if needed.
-
-
Click "Create."
Your subdomain is now active. You can upload specific files for that subdomain into the folder you just created.
