If you suspect your site has been hacked, or you just want peace of mind, you can scan your website for malicious code.
Method 1: Using cPanel (CJail or ClamAV)
Some BurjHost plans include virus scanning tools.
-
Log in to your cPanel.
-
Look for "Virus Scanner" or "ClamAV Scanner" (often under the "Security" or "Advanced" section).
-
Select the directory you want to scan (usually
public_html). -
Click "Scan" or "Run Scan."
-
The scanner will report any infected files. You can then quarantine or delete them.
Method 2: Using a WordPress Security Plugin
If you use WordPress, plugins offer excellent scanning features.
-
Install and activate a plugin like Wordfence or Sucuri.
-
Go to the plugin's dashboard.
-
Click on "Scan" or "Malware Scan."
-
The plugin will compare your core WordPress files against the official repository and scan for known malware signatures.
Method 3: Online Scanner Tools
You can use free online tools like:
-
Sucuri SiteCheck: Scans for malware, blacklisting, and website errors.
-
Quttera: In-depth malware scanner.
Note: If you find malware you cannot remove, contact BurjHost support. We can often help clean it up.
